Christmas is right around the corner & there are so many local events that you can attend for cheap or free! Here are some that you may not have seen yet and are definitely worth checking out!
Events that you can go to now (as of December 17th)
Check out Christmas at the Endview Plantation. Starting December 12th through January 3rd you can check out the beautiful decorations & learn about the families & local history that the historic plantation has to offer. Regular admission applies. Christmas Sing Along at the Waterman’s Museum. Enjoy the holiday season at the museum & sing along with ARC. Thursday December 17th starts at 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Call 757-887-2641 for more details.
Holiday Evening in the Planetarium at the Virginia Living Museum. See various shows during the day & evening. Cost: Daytime Shows: VLM Members-Free Non-Members- $4.00 + regular admission. Visit Carousel Park in Downtown Hampton. This carousel is open year round, built in 1920, it is a beautiful attraction to check out! It is a $1 per ride & you can buy tickets at the Hampton History Museum & at the Carousel. Visit the website for hours of operation. http://hampton.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/1
Illumination of the Taverns in Colonial Williamsburg. Starting at 5:30pm you can watch at the Wetherburn’s Tavern, the Illumination of the Taverns. It will be accompanied by a narrative, firing of muskets & music by the Fifes & Drums. It is free & open to the public. Check out more details here.
Caroling at the Coffeehouse in Colonial Williamsburg. Starting at 6:00pm you can join in a holiday sing-along at Charlton’s Coffeehouse!
Escape the King at Raleigh Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg. Take a few friends and experience this “game”. You will be locked in a room by a British officer & will have only 1 hour to try and escape by finding clues & solving riddles! It is tonight (December 17th) & there are two time slots 6:30 & 7:00 & it is $20/person, you can buy tickets here.
Colonial Williamsburg Ghost Walk. Two shows starting at 7:00pm & the last one is at 8:30pm at the William Pitt Store in Colonial Williamsburg. Experience the official Colonial Williamsburg Ghost Walk, listen to true stories of the real ghosts & haunted historic sites. This event is available 2x a night 7 days a week. It costs $10/person (13 & up), $5 for kids (12-6) & free for kids 6 & under. You can buy your tickets here.

Enjoy a carriage ride in Oyster Point City Center. December 18th-19th 6:00p-8:00p. Take a free horse drawn carriage ride around the fountain.
Illumination of Market Square in Colonial Williamsburg. Starting at 5:30pm experience the illuminating of Market Square accompanied by a narrative, firing of muskets & music by the Fifes & Drums. This event is free & open to the public. Check out more details here.
Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol in Merchants Square, Colonial Williamsburg. Catch two shows at 3:30pm & 5:00pm that lasts about 30 minutes, in the streets of Merchants Square. This is free & open to the public. Check out more details here.
